J'ai opté pour la chaînette de mailles en l'air, méthode traditionnelle et classique, mais un ouvrage pourrait tout aussi bien commencer autrement (une chaînette de mailles serrées ou de demi-brides ou de brides ou dans la lisière d'un autre ouvrage ou en procédant à des augmentations...). I opted for making simple chains, which is the most common way to start rows in Tunisian crochet. But there are many other options (make a single crochet or a half double crochet or double crochet foundation, or simply pick up stitches in the edge of another piece of work or start with very few stitches and gradually increase the number of stitches...).
